Uninterruptible Power System (UPS) in a 2(N+1) configuration protect servers from power outages and condition the power output to sensitive equipment. In the event of a failure of the utility power, the UPS cluster will immediately take the load of all servers and network hardware, supplying uninterrupted electricity from large batteries. Manufactured by MGE UPS Systems, the Galaxy 6000 are considered the best in the industry.
In the event of a utility power outage lasting more than a few minutes, redundant diesel generators in a N+1 configuration start automatically, providing power to our entire data centre systems.
Manufactured by FG Wilson, again the best in the industry, currently provide us with a 2.2 MW supply.
Two 10,000 litre on-site tanks provide enough diesel to run the data centre independently for at least 9 days in the event of an extended power outage.
